We have had time to play both inside and outside and a highlight of our first two weeks was voting for the town dog tags. Waitsfield town clerk Jen Peterson generously invites WES kindergarten to do this each year. While we couldn't travel to the town offices to vote this year, we were able to talk about the process of voting and the importance of voting when we have the opportunity. Each child voted on the shape and color for the next dog tags, which will come out sometimes this winter. Keep your eyes out for purple paws, which won by a landslide!

Our in person days at school have been busy and productive! We have spent much of our time establishing classroom routines and expectations. These include how to use all of the tools that are stored in each child's individual supply crate, as well as expectations for mask wearing, washing hands, and distancing. Children have done a fantastic job of learning expectations, rolling with the changes in how school looks, and finding ways to have fun throughout the day.
